This is our last full day at this location. We were hoping for sun but no luck. It was cloudy and cool yet again. Our neighbors gave us a tour of their Airstream trailer. It is an older model but they have it done up so nicely inside. There is a couch that folds out into a queen sized bed that was covered in a lambskin throw. Irene made me try it out and I must confess it was so cozy I wanted to have Francis go get me the book I was reading and spend the day there. Monica gave us some vegetarian spaghetti and garlic bread she made in the camper’s little kitchen and it was awesome. While we were eating, we met a young man fishing by the name of Brandon. He is 14 but looked 11. He came looking for hot dogs for bait for bass. We nor our neighbors had any but Monica gave him some left over fish from their previous meal.. He was a very nice and polite young man who knew a lot about fishing. We see so much that is wrong with today’s youth, it is refreshing to see a young man so well mannered and who has such a love for fishing. Aside from that, he had his sister and her friend along and he built a lean to for the friend because she is recuperating from surgery and gets cold easily. After hearing that, Monica cooked up another batch of spaghetti to serve to the youngsters. I guess I am not the only one with a soft spot for kids. In the evening we sat at Irene and Monica’s campfire (Irene’s fires are amazing) with another writer, Carolenna Martin, and another camper named Bob. It is fun to get to know other campers and trade experiences. We always get new ideas for places to go and things to see. After Carolenna and Bob left, Irene told us some fascinating stories of her parents during World War II Poland and her and her husband in communist Poland.
